What South Australian homeowners say
Residential solar
Solar built around your house, not a package price
We install residential solar and home batteries across Adelaide, the Adelaide Hills and regional South Australia.
Family started, based at Carey Gully, on South Australian roofs. Every system is sized to your roof, your shading and your usage.
Why bother
What solar on your home solves
South Australia has some of the highest power prices in the country and the tightest export rules. Both change what a good home system looks like.
The problem
Bills that only move one way
Rates are high and the daily supply charge lands whether you use much or not. Feed-in tariffs are now worth a fraction of what they were.
What makes it worse
The wrong system costs you twice
Too big and you export power you are barely paid for. Too small and you still buy at peak rates. A cheap install on a shaded roof underperforms from day one.
What we do
Size it to your usage, then stand behind it
- Sized to your daytime usage, not your roof space
- Our own installers, never subcontracted
- Minimum five year whole-of-system warranty

Why us
Why choose TFA Solar for your home
A small team, so you are not a job number
The person who quotes your system is on the team that installs it. One number to call, before and after.
No pressure, no same-day sign-ups
We are all in-house and we do not use pressure sales. Our Open Solar quotes show the expected savings and performance graphs, so you can see what you are buying before you decide.
One of the first solar companies in South Australia
Plenty of companies that sold solar in that time no longer exist, which is why we spend a fair amount of time repairing their work.
Our own installers, on our own jobs
Never subcontracted. Every system carries a minimum five year whole-of-system and installation warranty.
We know this network and this terrain
Export limits, SWER supplies, shaded blocks and bushfire prone sites are routine for us, not the occasional exception.

FAQs
Common questions about home solar
How much does residential solar cost in Adelaide?
There is no set package price. Every quote is built around your usage, your roof and your plans, with rebates already deducted.
What size system does my house need?
It depends on how much power you use during the day, not how much roof you have. Exporting is worth very little now, so an oversized system costs more than it returns.
What rebates can I get?
Panels attract federal certificates that come off the price at the point of sale. Home batteries attract up to around 30 percent off through the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program.
How much you can claim depends on the size of the battery. Batteries from 5 to 14kWh claim the full amount, 14 to 28kWh claim 60 percent, and 28 to 50kWh claim 15 percent. The rate steps down every six months through to the end of 2030.
Rebate amounts move, so we confirm the figure that applies to your system when we quote, and it comes off the price rather than being claimed back later.
Should I add a battery now or later?
Either works. A hybrid inverter now makes adding storage later straightforward instead of a rework. If you are ready now, the rebate steps down every six months, so waiting generally means claiming less.
Will my solar keep the house running in a blackout?
Only if the battery is specified with backup and the switchboard is wired for it. Tell us at the site visit, because it changes which battery we recommend.
How long does an install take?
We are on site at 7.45am and usually finished by the afternoon, with our own team. Before we leave we walk you through the monitoring app.
What happens after it is installed?
We keep an eye on your system early on and help with a smart meter upgrade if you need one. After that, give us a call any time. We suggest a clean and service every two to five years to keep it performing.
Which areas do you cover?
All of metropolitan Adelaide, the Adelaide Hills, and rural and regional South Australia. Not sure if you are in range? Give us a call.
